GEEZ I need to get on here more often!

I haven't written since JULY??? Woops! I blog on Myspace all the time. I would say i am going to put in more effort but guess what? I am about to start college! I went to the orientation for 'adults starting college for the first time' the other night. It was fun and I learned a whole lot! In fact, I learned that I may not have to go to school near as long as I thought I would. I want to work with children 3 and under who have developmental delays. I am taking basics this semester though. FUN! NOT! I am taking Algebra. Entry level. UGH. Apparently I have an awesome teacher. I went to http://www.ratemyprofessor.com/ to get info on my teachers. My English teacher, not so good. Well we shall see.

All the children are good! The two older ones have taken up guitar. They are pretty good too! Zoey is really doing great in gymnastics too. I am really proud. Her dad has been nicer lately so I assumed that must mean he has a girlfriend. I was right! Makes my life so much easier.

Lexi is great. She talks and talks and talks and talks. In english and spanish. She counts to 20 in english and 15 in spanish. She still speaks mostly english but understands spanish perfectly and knows a lot of words. She has started translating too which is awesome!
She also puts things together in her mind. For example: yesterday she saw a picture of a man holding an umbrella. She knows that word but instead she said "rain!" It wasn't raining in the picture and she wasn't calling the umbrella itself rain. She just knows what it is used for. Although WE never use them. We usual just run for it. Besides, it hasn't rained here in a while!
She does things like this all the time. I am not sure if she is just really smart or normal for her age.

My hubby did find a job and has been doing it since September. He likes it but eventually he wants to be a sonographer. So he wants to go to school after I am done.

Well, thats my catch up post. We'll see how long it takes till I do it again! Ha ha

Jobless???

How do you deal with being jobless? my husband is going through that now and is beside himself. He has NEVER been unemployed except for 1 month during his transition to the states. He's so afraid he won't find anything and believe me, so am I. But we have to have faith! He and I are both 'Just in time' people. We have always had money come our way 'Just in time!' But, it would be nice to not have that just in time but instead have it all the time. I always see articles that say everyone can save money. It isn't true. We aren't big spenders and don't do or buy anything lavish. We started saving change in our big water jug only wishing to fill it up. But times got hard and we had to use it. So here we are again. One of us is unemployed and the other, (me) is working as a temp. The temp job will be over end of August so I am looking too. The very best option would be for me to work from home part-time. But I am not sure what to do at home. I don't have any special talents.

I am back!

Well, I have decided to do more here and less on myspace. I think it's time to cut most ties with it. So first thing I will do is upload some pics! Enjoy!

We are all doing pretty good. Still trying to get job situations straight. Seems like it goes on forever! We will figure it out.

The girls are doing well! They are having a fun summer! Lexi is too! She is talking very well! Basically if you tell her to say something, she will and she says it well. She remembers things easily. Her daddy has taught her to kick a soccer ball (we got her a size 1) and she knows how to throw her hands up and yell, "GOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAL!" It's so cute! Lately she has been getting my undies from the clean laundry and wearing them on her head. I would post a picture but, they are my undies. I remembered that I used to wear anything I could on my head at her age, including undies, but mostly pants. Funny how they take after you in such funny ways!

Update

The lice thing has now been going on for 1 month. I am rid of it and I THINK my oldest is rid of it but not my middle one. I did the mayo thing last week. I am still not sure if thats what worked on Marcela or if it is gone for sure. Does anyone know how long this takes? HELP!

one of those days

one of those days
You know those commercial or on movies where there is total kaos in the home? you know, dog barking, baby screaming, kids yelling "mom!!!" doorbell ringing, phone ringing, blender is going with no lid splattering everywhere? that was my day yesterday. sigh... it all started 2 days ago after my girls got out of school. My oldest says to me, "my head itches mom." I check her and she has lice. I check all our heads and my husband checks mine. Us 3 girls all have it. Luckily not my husband or the baby but thats because they don't have enough hair. So my husband buys enough of the special shampoo for all of us including him just in case. so the next four hours we are washing hair and nit picking. I am so totally grossed out the entire time. Then begins the washing. OMG the washing. it is never ending. i have to wash sheets and blankets and jackets and towels everyday until this is gone.
Well yesterday of course I was washing all day. But there was so much other stuff going on too. i needed to run errands and my ex husband refuses to talk to me over the phone so he texts me. So I am trying to text him back while driving!!! But don't worry I pulled over. so I pick up the girls from school and at 4 pm start nit picking. YUCK. My middle one has incredibly long thick curly hair and there is just no way so I cut it short. to her shoulders. it looks really cute actually! Anyway, after 2 hours of doing her hair, the baby is crying and bored and hungry, my husband is trying to call over and over but his STUPID NEXTEL/SPRINT PHONE keeps dropping the call. He needs to go get it fixed and go buy his Angel Tree Angel her gift and I need help at home because the baby and my oldest are going crazy. He comes home instead thank goodness. His phone rings and its bad news moneywise. Then MY phone is ringing. Baby is yelling. CAT is meowing because no body has fed her. In my head I am trying figure out what the heck we are supposed to do for dinner. My daughter is yelling from the shower. I run in there to help her turn off the water. My husband yells for me and i scream back "WAIT!!!" He yells "WE HAVE A CRITTER IN THE HOUSE!!!" I go out there and there is some kind of animal in our fireplace wanting out. we have the fireplace blocked because of the baby so it was trying push through. We set up a trap and it never came out all night. So maintenence is here as I write this, cutting the sheet rock above it. So far they have found a dead bird and they can see a squirrel but can't get to it. oh joy. Needless to say, I never got to nit pick my other daughters hair and my didn't get done either. oh and of course to top it all off, the baby didn't sleep well last night. She woke up to play at 3AM!!!
And me? Well, i am doing laundry. SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Portraits

We went and took some portraits of Lexi this past weekend. Her Abuelitos bought her the dress. I told the lady at Sears that we were not there to take Christmas pictures but one would be OK because well, it is her first Christmas. I just wanted some pictures that would be showable for more than 3 weeks. Needless to say, there are several Christmas pics. Oh well. They came out really cute though and her they are!
